The University of Vienna has 60 locations, predominantly in the vicinity of the historic main building on Vienna's Ringstraße, i.e., in the 1st and adjoining 9th district, Alsergrund. Also located at Alsergrund is the University of Vienna's campus, known as the "Old AKH" or "AAKH," which accommodates most cultural studies institutes and the new lecture hall center.
