No matter whether you want to enjoy a morning jog before breakfast or whether you need a workout after a hard business day – Vienna has some running routes for you. Both our recommended routes, the Augarten and the Danube Canal, offer equally relaxed running. We have especially tested these routes starting at the Hotel Boltzmann, and give you short summaries below:

Route 1: Danube Canal – distance from app. 3km or more

Strudelhofstiege - Liechtensteinstrasse - Fürstengasse - Palais Liechtenstein - Porzellangasse - Pramergasse - Danube Canal and back.

Extended route - Augarten

Route 1, then further from Pramergasse - Rossauer Lände - Rossauer Bridge - Rembrandtstrasse - Augarten - back. The complete route is flat and paved. In the Augarten, you run on gravel paths. You can choose your distance individually.

  • Augarten: Volkspark - Kulturpark - Baroque garden
  • 52.2 hectares large, gravel paths
  • Opening hours:
    • April to October from 6.00 A.M. until nightfall.
    • November - March from 6.30 A.M. until nightfall.

Route 2: Circular route – distance app. 5 km - flat

When choosing this route along the famous Vienna Ringstrasse, you will have to cope with some traffic-light stops on the one hand, but on the other hand you will be compensated by the route along the former city wall, which was ground at the times of Emperor Franz-Joseph with all its attractions and beautiful mansions and Gründerzeit buildings.

This running route takes you along Strudelhofstiege – Liechtensteinstrasse – Schottenring – Franz-Josefs-Kai – Schwedenplatz – Stubenring – Parkring – Schubertring – Kärntnerring – Opernring – Burgring – Karl Renner Ring – Dr. Karl Lueger Ring up to the Schottentor / Votive Church and back via the Währinger Strasse to Boltzmanngasse.
